Reviews for MONK LAKES, MARDEN

I've been coming to Monk Lakes for a very long time - since it was a catch your own trout farm using bamboo canes! All of the lakes are well cared for with a choice of swim for pleasure anglers, match fishermen and specimen hunters. I've had some cracking days here and I caught my pb carp on Puma lake a few years back.
I wanted to leave a review to highlight how good the fishery is but also to say how rude and obnoxious the older chap is who works in the on site shop. I visited recently and picked up some bits of tackle and patiently waited for him to finish his f- this, f-that conversation with some other guys. He decided his mates were far more important than a customer wanting to pay so he carried on effing and blinding away and purposely made me stand there like an inconvenience. In the end, it was one of the fellas he was talking to who suggested I may need to pay for a day ticket and get fishing. I duly paid and at that he returned to his friend without any further acknowledgement. This isn't a one off, he's always this rude!
Yes, I know this isn't the Ritz hotel or a posh establishment but I cannot stand being ignored on purpose or people who simply cannot say 'thank you'.
Anyway, this is a great fishery - I just don't like my fishing day to begin with a miserable git 😁

WOW . What a fantastic place to fish, the staff are very happy and friendly with a fantastic little food bar, plus it only cost me £10 for 2 rods to fish for 12 hours as I am classed as disabled as I suffer with multiple sclerosis (MS,)so BEING ABLE TO DRIVE right upto my swim was a very happy bonus as I have trouble with my walking big time. And will definitely be coming back to fish here again 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣

Lovely lakes. Honestly, it's one of the best lakes I have been to. Swims are well kept, and the staff are amazing. The bailiff went above and beyond to get my line out the reeds.

Wanted to fish this lake last weekend, I have disabilities and need flat ground. Got there early, with at least 30 + cars in front of us, a gentleman did walk along and told us the 2 lakes where full, perhaps a good idea if they put something on their Facebook page to tell people and keep us informed. I will try and go back but I need my husband to help me, he works all week, so only have weekends. Shame

Very well stocked lakes. Fished lake 3. Mainly carp around 8lb to 13lb. Small lake and not secluded but fishing is good. Overall a good up commercial fishery.

Lovely place was on bridges , after half a day of not seeing any signs of carp through the deeper out the hole side of the lake we was on was only 1.2 meters at its deepest the rest was around a meter in depth and no fish , still it’s big lake they must have been somewhere else , but it’s a lovely place nice clean , good food , toilets
